Nature Education Summer Camp

Summer is more fun when you’re outside and enjoying nature! Registration for summer camp will open in March 25, 2019.

Life in a Pond (5-7Y)

  • When: Monday-Friday, June 24th – 28th, 9am -12pm

In this camp, we will investigate the unique ecosystem of a pond. What kinds of plants, insects, and other animals live in a pond? What is special about their wet and wild habitat? We will explore life in a pond through crafts, games, and activities like fishing, insect collecting, and science experiments. Oliver Nature Park sunglasses, and daily snack are included in registration fee. Pre-registration required by Friday June 21st at 12 pm. 

Herpetology Helpers (5-7Y)

Cost: $80/$82 per child.  Save $2 with MAC membership.

  • When: Monday-Friday, July 15th – 19th, 9am -12pm

Herpetology is the study of reptiles and amphibians. Turtles, frogs, snakes, and even alligators are animals that a herpetologist might study. Come learn about the slimy, scaly world of herpetology while having fun doing crafts, games, experiments, and exploration. Oliver Nature Park sunglasses and daily snack are included in registration fee. Pre-registration required by Friday July 12th at 12 pm. 

Animal Science (7-10Y)

Cost: $150/$152 per child.  Save $2 with MAC membership.

  • When: Monday-Friday, June 3rd– 7th, 9 am-3 pm

Have you ever wondered how adaptations help animals survive, find their food, or make their homes? Join us for a class all about animals! We will study and observe the native wildlife that lives in our park. Students will also interact with our Wildlife Ambassadors to learn first-hand about animal behavior and how animals use their senses to survive. Each day, we will spotlight a different animal and their habitat. Oliver Nature Park sunglasses and daily snack are included in registration fee. Pre-registration required by Friday May 31st at 12 pm. 

Nature Artist (7-10Y)

  • When: Monday-Friday, June 17th– 21st, 9 am-12 pm

Join us for an art based nature camp at Oliver Nature Park. Students will complete many art crafts throughout the week based around the beauty of nature. They will learn where our materials come from, why each material is important to our surroundings, and what materials we would not want to use from the forest. A few of the crafts the students will create include paper, paintbrushes, animals from natural materials, and so much more! Oliver Nature Park sunglasses and daily snack is included in registration fee.  Pre-registration required by Friday June 14th at 12 pm. 

Girl Scout Camp – Brownies (7-9Y)

Cost:

Non – Scout (not receiving badges) - $80/$82

Scout (receiving 5 badges) - $97/$99

Save $2 with MAC membership.

  • When: Monday-Friday, June – 10th – 14th, 9am-12 pm

Join us for an exciting week of outdoor adventures and activities at Oliver Nature Park! During this fun filled camp, we will cover all the steps to earn five different Girl Scout Brownie badges: Eco Friend, Bugs, Letterboxer, Pets, and Outdoor Art Creator. This camp is age appropriate, fun, and educational for all students ages 7-9 years, and students do not have to be in Girl Scouts to attend. Oliver Nature Park sunglasses and daily snack are included in registration fee. Pre-registration is required by Friday, June 7th at 12 pm.

Girl Scout Camp – Juniors (9-11Y)

Cost:

Non – Scout (not receiving badges) - $80/$82

Scout (receiving 5 badges) - $97/$99

  • When: Monday-Friday, July 8th -12th, 9am-12 pm

Join us for an exciting week of outdoor adventures and activities at Oliver Nature Park! During this fun filled camp, we will cover all the steps to earn five different Girl Scout Junior badges: Outdoor Art Explorer, Flowers, Geocaching, Animal Habitats, and Detective. This camp is age appropriate, fun, and educational for all students ages 9-11 years, and students do not have to be in Girl Scouts to attend. Oliver Nature Park sunglasses and daily snack are included in registration fee. Pre-registration is required by Friday, July 5th at 12 pm. 

Adventure Camp

When: Monday-Friday

  • Ages 7-10 years – July 8th-12th, 6-9 pm
  • Ages 10-14 years - July 15th-19th, 6-9 pm

Looking to have an outdoor adventure close to home this summer? Come to Adventure Camp to try out your new outdoor skills! We will learn about camping, fishing, archery, hiking, and more. The camper's immediate family will be invited to stay for an evening of fun for Friday night’s class. Campers will share the skills they have learned throughout the week. The evening will end with a campfire and s'mores. Oliver Nature Park sunglasses, and daily snack are included in registration fee. Pre-registration required by the Friday prior at 9am. Please note that archery day will be held at McClendon Park West.

Science Starter Pack (9-14Y)

Cost: $150/$152 per child.  Save $2 with MAC membership.

  • When: Monday-Friday, July 22nd – 26th, 9am -3pm

Are you interested in science? Enjoy a science starter pack and learn about a different field of science each day! We will learn about topics in astronomy, biology, chemistry, geology, and physics. Then, we will put our new knowledge to use with experiments and hands-on demonstrations. We will also take hikes through Oliver Nature Park to make observations of scientific principles in nature. Oliver Nature Park sunglasses and daily snack is included in registration fee. Pre-registration by July 19th at 9 am.
