The Mansfield Jail has medical staff on shift 24 hours a day/7 days a week. The Medical Department distributes medication and care, as needed, to the inmates in our facility.
If an inmate has medication they were taking before incarceration, the medication can be brought to the facility for inspection by the nurse. Once inspected and approved, the medication will be distributed to the inmate by medical staff as instructed on the prescription container.
If the medication has been tampered with, is not in the proper container, has expired or does not contain a proper amount in accordance with the date listed, it will not be allowed into the facility for distribution to the inmate.
Prescription eyeglasses are also allowed to be brought to the facility and once approved will be issued to the inmate who owns them. Designer-framed eyeglasses and sunglasses are prohibited in the facility.
